The marquee runs long and narrow, which means a single PA at the head of the room turns the back third into a conversation pit while the front rattles glassware. We always run a second column at the dancefloor end. Problem solved, room balanced, every guest hearing the speeches and the first dance the way they were meant to be heard. The practical bit at Seacliff: the coastal wind is real, even on a calm-looking afternoon. Outdoor ceremony? Battery PA, no extension cords across the lawn, and a wireless lapel for whoever's officiating because a handheld will catch wind handling-noise every time. Power for the reception comes off a single main; we bring our own distro and we don't share circuits with the catering kitchen because we've seen what happens when the warming ovens kick in at the same moment the kick-drum hits. Lighting at Seacliff is a study in restraint. Big moving heads compete with the natural drama of the room — the view through the back windows, the timber, the sunset coming in low. We run uplights warm, keep effects subtle until the first dance is done, and then push it to club-energy after about 9:30pm when the room is ready.
