Greyleigh sits in the hills above Kiama and the barn is genuinely one of our favourite rooms to play on the South Coast. The acoustic is forgiving — beam ceilings, timber lining, real depth to the room — which means a properly-positioned sub does most of the heavy lifting and the dancefloor energy carries from front to back. Get the sub placement wrong and the same room turns muddy fast. We've worked out the sweet spots. Couples never know about the half-metre difference. They just notice the floor stays full. The ceremony spaces at Greyleigh give you options. The lawn runs slightly downhill, which is great for sightlines but tricky for outdoor PA — we run a battery-powered system positioned to project up the slope rather than out across it, and a wireless lapel on whoever's marrying you because the wind picks up around 3pm here, every time, in any season. The transition from outdoor ceremony to indoor reception is the music moment that defines a Greyleigh wedding, and we've planned the handover enough times to make it invisible. Lighting at Greyleigh rewards subtlety early and club-energy late. The barn looks incredible in warm uplighting at dusk; trying to push moving-head effects against the ambient light during dinner just kills the mood the venue's architecture has set up for you. We hold the big effects for after the first dance and then we go. Cake by 9pm, floor open by 9:30, peak energy by 10:30 — that's the Greyleigh shape. The Illawarra is our backyard. We don't charge a travel fee to Kiama, ever. If your Greyleigh wedding is in our peak season (October through April), the booking window is long — we usually take Greyleigh dates 12 to 18 months out.
